For me it was easier to start off with the electric as my fingertips were very weak at first. The electric guitar allowed me to easily hold down chords where the acoustics took a bit of finger strength before I could play the chords well. Acoustic Guitars The sound from an acoustic guitar is much different from an electric as the tones can be easily heard one from another. Unlike the electric guitar the acoustic is not so forgiving. You will often here every single stroke, poke or rub across the strings and mistakes will stand out big time. Acoustic Guitars are very rewarding though as I think it will help you to develop a good ear and be able to easily pick up sounds and replay them on your guitar.
		Acoustic Electric Guitars If you want a bit of both then take my advice and get an acoustic electric guitar in the color pink of course. This style of guitar allows you to choose playing with an amp or just going straight acoustic.
